Nasal
Cavity
The nasal cavity is the first compartment of conducting portion
of the respiratory system. It presents thick hairs and cutaneous
glands that work as the first barrier, making difficult the entrance
of dust particles in the airways.
Olfactory
region of the nasal cavity: mucosa is made up of the olfactory
epithelium supported on basal lamina. There is a fibrous lamina
propria with Bowman's glands, whose secretion keeps the nasal
cavity wet.
